Huawei donates ICT equipment to Kyebi Presbyterian School in Ghana

Huawei Ghana has donated ICT devices and equipment to facilitate the teaching and learning of students at the Kyebi Presbyterian School in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The donation, which affirms the company’s commitment to promote education at all levels, was aimed at giving the students at Kyebi Presbyterian School an opportunity to enhance their ICT skills with a more practical learning experience. It also seeks to facilitate the overall teaching and learning processes of the school.

Speaking during the donation ceremony, Rev. Ishmael Kwarteng, the Presbyterian District Minister, commended Huawei for their benevolence. He noted, “Most students here don’t have access to ICT infrastructure to promote the learning of basic ICT skills. This donation will boost the school’s ICT practical sessions and ensure our students are equipped with the requisite skills to advance their educational goals.”

Rev. Kwarteng called on other corporate players to also augment the efforts being made to provide support for students in education to ensure that every child in Ghana has equal access to quality education.

The Director of Government and Public Relations at Huawei Ghana, Madam Jenny Zhou, also mentioned that as a company, Huawei prioritizes social contributions geared towards ICT and Education and as a result will continue to consciously invest in more of such initiatives to help in the development of inclusive education the country. She encouraged the students to make the most of these new resources, stating that access to technology can open up endless opportunities for learning and growth.

Some items donated include 35 desktop computers, 5 projectors, 50 Huawei PAD tablets, 35 Desks and Chairs, 50 School bags, 500 Note and Exercise books and 1000 pens.

Huawei has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting education in Ghana through various initiatives. This donation to Kyebi Presbyterian School is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and empower students with essential ICT skills for the future.
