Huawei Ghana was awarded earlier this year with the prestigious Presidential Honour for Distinguished Service by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo. This recognition bestowed at the 2023 edition of the Ghana National Honours Awards, was to commended Huawei and other private organizations for their exemplary contribution to the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking during the ceremony, the President commended and acknowledged the tireless effort and dedication of the award recipients indicated how futile the fight against COVID-19 would have been without their support.
He also applauded public sector, private and international organizations, researchers, scientists, advisors, public health managers, frontline healthcare workers, hospital staff, contact tracers, the security services, faith-based organizations, and many others for their selflessness.
The 2023 Ghana National Honours Awards recognized over 20,000 individuals, institutions, and partners who exhibited exemplary work and contributed significantly to supporting Ghana during the pandemic.
In the face of this pandemic, Huawei supported the Ministry of Health, Korle Bu Teaching hospital, Nyaho Dove Foundation, Cantonment Police Station, the Office of the Presidency and many others as part of efforts in giving back to society.
