Dr. Hazel P. Berrard Amuah, PhD, DBA, is a distinguished author, a chartered insurer, and an accomplished business executive with over 25 years of experience in her field.
She has been honoured with numerous awards, including the prestigious international Number 1 Top Employer award. Dr. Amuah is also recognized as one of the top 20 HR Leaders in Ghana and has been named Woman HR Professional of the Year 2018, HR Practitioner of the Year 2019, and Africa HR Personality of the Year 2020.
A fellow of the African Leadership Initiative, Dr. Amuah is among the inaugural group of 100 Africans to receive this distinction in the Pan African ALI.
She is deeply committed to continuous people development and has pursued two terminal degrees to further enhance her business acumen. Her doctoral thesis focused on culture and cross-cultural leadership. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Bilingual Translation (French and English) and another Master’s degree in Organisational Development.
Dr. Amuah is also certified at the Diplôme de Langue Française Niveau B2 level by the Conseil de L’Europe and holds an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Royal Chartered Insurance Institute.
Hailing from the UK, Dr. Amuah is a certified coach from Henley and holds cross-cultural certification from the USA. Her extensive work experience spans 22 countries across Central and West Africa, encompassing industries such as FMCG, Energy, and the financial sector.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Amuah is passionate about philanthropy. Over the past decade, she has been actively involved in supporting orphans, vulnerable children, and lepers through her NGO, the Reach Out and Share Foundation.
In her leisure time, Dr. Amuah enjoys cycling, writing, swimming, reading, and photography.
