The Majority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has donated some laptops to teachers in the Effutu Municipality as part of his “One-Teacher-One-Laptop” initiative.
According to the Effutu MP, the move is aimed at modernizing and improving the quality of education in the constituency and beyond.
At a handing over ceremony of the laptops to beneficiary teachers, Mr Afenyo-Markin urged them to focus on their crucial role in nation-building rather than being swayed by partisan interests.
“In the past, such gadgets might not have been considered essential, but in contemporary times, they have become indispensable in providing quality education,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the laptops would significantly enhance the teaching process, allowing teachers to integrate technology into their daily lessons and improve students’ learning experiences.
The initiative according to the Majority Leader, aligns with broader educational reforms aimed at equipping teachers with the necessary tools to thrive in a digital world.
The event saw a high turnout of teachers who expressed their gratitude for the MP’s gesture. Many highlighted how the new laptops would alleviate previous challenges they faced in accessing digital resources and conducting research for their lesson plans.
Mr Afenyo-Markin also promised continued support for initiatives that would empower both teachers and students, ensuring that Effutu remains at the forefront of educational excellence in the region and beyond.
