Former President John Dramani Mahama has donated $10,000 to Ghana’s Amputee National team, the Black Challenge, in recognition of their victory in the 2024 Africa Amputee Cup of Nations (AAFCON).
The Black Challenge demonstrated remarkable determination and skill to emerge as the champions of the 2024 AAFCON, defeating Morocco 2-1 in the finals held in Egypt. This victory allowed them to successfully defend their title from the previous year.
In his remarks, the former president praised the team’s dedication and hard work, stating, “I am proud to support such a talented and resilient team. Your victory is a testament to your skill and determination.”
The triumph at AAFCON not only solidifies the Black Challenge’s place in the history of amputee football but also secures their spot at the 2026 World Amputee Football Cup in Panama, promising even greater achievements in the future.
