The journey of Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa) has not been all rosy and smooth, but one fraught with obstacles that ensured the survival and success of the group, according to its founder and CEO, Esther Cobbah.
Cobbah recounted how, during her unsuccessful job hunt, she decided to start something on her own, leading to the birth of Stratcomm. She hopes Stratcomm’s success story will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to dare to start their own businesses, as she believes this is the way forward.
She emphasized that the communications firm is grounded in excellence and integrity, which has helped create a solid brand over the past 30 years.
Speaking at the launch of Stratcomm Africa’s 30th anniversary in Accra on Friday, June 21, under the theme “30 years of dynamic impact,” Cobbah stated that reputation cannot be segmented. “Reputation is an encapsulation of the totality of who you are,” she said, adding that her training focused on using different media for effective messaging, shaping, and managing reputation.
Cobbah noted that Stratcomm Africa was established to deliver comprehensive communication solutions, with a vision to use communication as a tool for national development, individual livelihood enhancement, and organizational profitability.
She highlighted the firm’s approach of combining digital with traditional communication methods, warning against an over-reliance on artificial intelligence that neglects the realities of the current context.
The founder of LVS Africa, Alhassan Andani, also spoke at the event, stressing the need for the government to craft and promote a narrative that highlights Ghana’s enormous potential to the rest of the world. Andani argued that strategic communications could build the right national brand, attracting development finance institutions and investor confidence necessary for the country’s economic recovery.
“Government must be intentional about building the right national brand,” Andani said. “This would make development finance institutions view Ghana as a viable partner, encouraging profitable investments through favorable laws and abundant resources.”
Stratcomm Africa is a total communications and reputation management agency dedicated to enhancing organizational performance. It specializes in formulating and implementing communication strategies for individuals, as well as public, private, and governmental institutions, both nationally and internationally.
