President Akufo-Addo recently inaugurated the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation’s (GNPC) new operational headquarters, known as the Energy House, in Takoradi.

The complex includes public amenities such as a 300-seater auditorium, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and a business center, alongside private office spaces for GNPC and potential tenants.
The decision to establish GNPC’s operational headquarters in Takoradi is strategically significant. The Western Region is the epicenter of Ghana’s offshore oil and gas activities, and placing GNPC’s operations close to the source of the country’s petroleum resources is expected to streamline workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Minister of State at the Energy Ministry, Herbert Krapa, highlighted that the proximity of the headquarters to offshore activities will expedite petroleum operations and ensure that the local community benefits directly from the resources they host.

Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah expressed satisfaction with the fulfillment of a promise made by President Akufo-Addo while in opposition.
