Ghana Police deny allegations of militia training in Kwahu

37views

The Ghana Police Service has strongly denied allegations of militia training in Kwahu, Eastern Region, supposedly in preparation for the 2024 general elections. This denial comes in response to a recent publication that claimed some individuals in the area were being trained for the upcoming polls.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 19, the Police clarified that their investigation has found no evidence to support these claims. The statement also indicated that further investigations are underway to identify those responsible for spreading the false information.

“The Police have commenced an investigation to identify those behind the false publication to hold them accountable according to the law,” the statement read.

The Police also issued a warning to the public, urging them to refrain from spreading fake news.
