The Melcom Group of Companies has paid tribute to its late Communications Director, Godwin Avenorgbo, affectionately known as the “Grandmaster,” who passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024.
Mr. Avenorgbo joined Melcom in 2013 and quickly became a cornerstone of the organization.
According to the group, his visionary leadership and dedication to communication left a lasting impact on the company.
In a statement signed by its management on Tuesday, the Group noted that Mr. Avenorgbo was highly respected and admired by colleagues at all levels.
“One of his most significant achievements was serving as the Chairman of the Melcom Education Scholarship. Under his guidance, the scheme was transformed, earning numerous recommendations and greatly benefiting its recipients,” the statement said.
The Melcom Group expressed its deepest condolences to Mr. Avenorgbo’s family, friends, and colleagues.
The statement further noted that his legacy as a mentor, visionary, and leader in ethical communication will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
