The Ghana National Fire Service is urgently repairing a faulty fire hydrant at Parliament following a fire that broke out in the Job 600 building on Tuesday, August 27, prompting an evacuation of staff.

The fire, which started in a second-floor storage room, was contained by four fire tenders, with no casualties reported.

However, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Greater Accra Regional Fire Commander, ACFO 1 Roberta Aggrey Ghanson, revealed that the faulty hydrant hindered effective water distribution during the firefighting efforts.
