Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar and leader of the New Force Movement, has launched an ambitious plan to generate 8 million jobs across Ghana over the next decade. This initiative aims to address unemployment and drive economic growth by focusing on key sectors such as industry, mineral resources, and agriculture.
Speaking at the launch of the New Force Movement’s “12 Pillars for Economic Revolution” in Accra, Cheddar outlined his strategy to invest in all 16 regions, emphasizing the development of industrial plants for refining minerals and processing agricultural products.
“We begin by ensuring investment in all 16 regions, building industrial plants to refine our minerals, and processing plants to handle our agricultural produce,” he stated.
Cheddar highlighted the country’s untapped wealth in resources like gold, iron ore, gas, bauxite, lithium, and diamonds, alongside the potential of agro-processing. “Our research on attribution reserves shows that Ghana’s resources, including arable lands, amount to $2.5 trillion… We are determined to unlock the wealth of every region. Ghana will achieve an economic output of $4.7 trillion, and we will create 8 million jobs within a decade,” he declared.
