Several Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have begun reducing fuel prices at the pumps with the start of the first pricing window in September.
This marks the third consecutive decrease in fuel prices by some OMCs over recent pricing windows.
State-owned Goil, for instance, has lowered the price of petrol (Super XP) from GH₵14.22 during the second pricing window of August to GH₵14.16. The price of diesel (Diesel XP) has also been reduced, now retailing at GH₵14.70, down from GH₵14.90.
These slight reductions are largely attributed to a drop in the prices of refined petroleum products on the international market, coupled with the relative stability of the cedi during this period. More OMCs are expected to follow suit and reduce their prices in the coming days.
