Several Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have begun lowering fuel prices at the pumps following the start of the second pricing window in September. This marks the fourth consecutive drop in fuel prices since the trend began in early August.
State-owned GOIL, which previously sold petrol (Super XP) at GH¢14.16 during the first September pricing window, has reduced it to GH¢12.99. Diesel (Diesel XP), which was priced at GH¢14.70, is now retailing at GH¢14.49.
These price cuts are attributed to a continued decline in international refined petroleum prices and the relatively favorable performance of the Cedi compared to the previous pricing window. More OMCs are expected to follow suit with price reductions in the coming days.
