The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has issued a stern warning against any form of electoral violence in the lead-up to the 2024 General Elections. Chairman Daniel Titus-Glover emphasized that robust security measures are in place to prevent disturbances similar to those witnessed in recent elections in Kenya.
Speaking during a simulation exercise organized by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Titus-Glover urged citizens to avoid violence and warned that security forces are prepared to deal with any disruptions during the December polls.
He further advised individuals not to be swayed by incitements to violence, urging them to challenge those who provoke them by asking, “Why don’t you send your own children?” He made it clear that the security forces will act swiftly and decisively against anyone involved in violent acts.
“I urge everyone to refrain from any form of violence. Anyone planning to cause trouble should abandon such intentions immediately, as we are fully prepared to respond,” he warned.
