The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a key member of the Democracy Hub, has been admitted to the Police Hospital following complaints of ill-health. Another member of the group, Fanny Otoo, was also admitted for medical care after reporting similar symptoms.
In a statement, the Police clarified that Otoo had reported feeling unwell on September 24, 2024, while the group was being prepared for court. He was promptly taken to the Police Hospital in Accra, where he was treated and later admitted for further observation.
Similarly, Barker-Vormawor reported feeling sick later that night and was also transferred to the Police Hospital, where doctors assessed his condition and admitted him for treatment.
The Police emphasized that medical attention was provided to both individuals without delay, addressing concerns about their well-being. “At no point in time have the Police denied these suspects any medical attention,” the statement reiterated.
