The Office of the President has issued an official statement addressing rumors regarding the health of Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to President Akufo-Addo. The government confirmed that Mr. Asante fell ill while on official duty in the United States.
According to the communique, Nana Bediatuo Asante became unwell shortly after the conclusion of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where he was a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation. He was subsequently admitted to a hospital in the U.S. for medical treatment.
Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Office of the President, confirmed that Mr. Asante is currently in stable condition and responding positively to treatment. “He is stable and responding well to medical care,” Arhin said.
The Jubilee House also shared optimism about his recovery, with the medical team assuring that Mr. Asante is on track for a full recovery. “We remain hopeful for his swift return to full health,” the statement noted.
The presidency expressed gratitude for the continued prayers and support for Nana Bediatuo Asante and his family during this time.
