Fidelity Bank Ghana appoints Kwabena Boateng as New Deputy Managing Director of Wholesale Banking

Fidelity Bank Ghana has announced the appointment of Mr. Kwabena Boateng as its new Deputy Managing Director in charge of Wholesale Banking, effective October 1, 2024.

Mr. Boateng brings over two decades of extensive banking experience to this new role, further enhancing the bank’s leadership team. Before this appointment, he served as Divisional Director for Corporate and Institutional Banking at Fidelity Bank, where he played a crucial role in the strategic growth and development of the bank’s corporate banking portfolio.

Since joining Fidelity Bank in 2017, Mr. Boateng has demonstrated exceptional leadership, achieving impressive results while aligning with the bank’s overall strategy. His banking career spans over 20 years, including various leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank, where he was the Executive Director and Head of Commercial Banking, as well as the General Manager of SME Banking.

In addition to his banking experience, Mr. Boateng began his career as a civil engineer, successfully managing major road construction projects across Ghana.

Kwabena Boateng holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He has also attended the Executive Programme at Harvard Kennedy School. His extensive banking expertise, along with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, positions him well to drive the bank’s strategic initiatives.
