The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially presented the final voters’ register to political parties, marking a crucial milestone in the preparations for the December 7, 2024, general election.
During a presentation in Accra on Wednesday, November 6, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa underscored the importance of the voters’ register in ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.
“At the IPAC meeting on October 15, we announced that the register would be presented by the end of the first week in November,” Mensa noted. “With the help of God, we are able to do so two days ahead of schedule.”
She shared that the commission received 158 issues from voters following the exhibition of the revised provisional voters’ register, all of which have now been resolved. “We now have a robust and credible certified voters’ register ready to support a transparent, fair, peaceful, and successful election on December 7, 2024,” Mensa affirmed.
