Huawei, in line with its commitment to fostering an all-inclusive and sustainable digital future for communities, has partnered with the Ursula Foundation, a non-profit organization, to provide digital tools and entrepreneurship training for the youth in rural communities.

The partnership under the Ursula Foundation’s social inclusion program dubbed “Empowering the Future with a Sense of Urgency” seeks to empower the youth to succeed in their chosen field of business. In support of the initiative, Huawei donated 30 Huawei MatePad SE tablets to the Foundation. These tablets will enable remote access to training materials and facilitate the program’s digital learning components.

Mr. Bernard Adjei, Head of Communications and Partnerships at the Foundation, indicated that Huawei’s support will open new doors of opportunity for the youth and equip them with skills for the digital economy.

According to him, the Foundation, through the support of companies like Huawei, commits to creating an enabling environment where the youth, through mentorship and skills development initiatives, can thrive and achieve the future they dream of. He assured Huawei that the devices will be put to good use and called on other private organizations to support the Foundation’s mandate.

Ms. Qiu Ye, Head of Business Environment at Huawei, added that Huawei is committed to bridging the digital divide and empowering underserved communities. This partnership, she said, is another step towards the company’s goal of creating a more inclusive and sustainable digital future.

In Ghana, Huawei has contributed significantly to boosting the digital skills capacity of the youth across all the 16 regions in the country. So far, the company has offered training to more than 70,000 Senior High School girls and traders and connected over 2,000 youth to jobs in the telecommunications industry.
