The Ministry of National Security has refuted claims by the Herald Newspaper that its officers and those from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) abducted Sylvia Baah, the Airport Services Manager of Emirates Airlines at Kotoka International Airport.
In a statement issued on Monday, November 25, the Ministry categorically denied any connection to the alleged incident, describing the claims as unfounded. It further assured the public of its commitment to uncover the truth, announcing the launch of an investigation into the matter. The Ministry vowed that anyone found responsible for the alleged abduction would face the full force of the law.
The Ministry also urged the public to disregard the allegations made in the Herald Newspaper, calling for a critical and cautious approach to the publication’s claims.
Police Investigation and Rescue
The Ghana Police Service began investigating the alleged abduction on Friday, November 22, following reports that Baah had been taken from the entrance of her residence in Accra on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
In an update provided on Saturday, November 23, the police confirmed Baah’s rescue and reunion with her family. Authorities assured the public of ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, reiterating their dedication to ensuring justice is served.
The incident has sparked widespread concern, with both the Ministry and law enforcement emphasizing their commitment to addressing the situation transparently and holding the culprits accountable.
