Ekumfi Youth Empowerment Summit 2025 launched

The Ekumfi Youth Empowerment Summit (EYES) 2025 was launched on November 30, 2024, at the La Femme Restaurant near Mankessim. The event was attended by representatives of traditional leaders, the clergy, youth groups, political parties, educational associations, and the media.

Nana Nyieku-Otwerkoko Sumankwahen of Ekumfi Traditional Area chaired the occasion, while Nana Appa Korankye VII delivered a special address on behalf of traditional leaders. Dr. Stephen Yamoah, Executive Director of Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG), also addressed the gathering.

The EYES 2025 aims to equip Ekumfi’s youth with skills, confidence, and opportunities to participate actively in community development.

The summit’s objectives include equipping youth with skills and confidence to participate actively in community development as well as creating an enabling environment where youth feel valued and supported

It is also to develop a strategic roadmap for Ekumfi youth development.

Offering practical skill-building sessions to boost employability and entrepreneurship and providing a platform for networking and collaboration

The summit will also empower youth to create and implement solutions to local challenges.

Nana Appa Korankye VII emphasized the importance of youth in national development, stating that empowering youth is crucial for Ghana’s growth and prosperity. He also highlighted Ekumfi District’s critical role in national development, given its rich natural resources, fertile soil, and strategic location.

Dr. Stephen Yamoah pledged the support of Nuclear Power Ghana to the Ekumfi Youth Empowerment Summit, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in national development.

The event concluded with a 4.5-minute documentary on the concept of EYES 2025, followed by a countdown to unveil the summit’s logo and a fireworks display.
