Taptap Send, a global leader in digital money transfer, has officially resumed its operations in Ghana following a temporary suspension. Customers can now send money from the UK, Europe, Canada, the United States, and the UAE to their loved ones in Ghana, effective immediately.
Suspension Lifted by Bank of Ghana
The month-long pause was initiated after a directive from the Bank of Ghana, which temporarily suspended Taptap Send’s partnership with local banks and fintech companies over its newly launched wallet product. However, the suspension was lifted ahead of schedule on December 4, 2024, allowing the company to return to serving its Ghanaian customers.
Renewed Commitment to Customers
“We are excited to resume transfers to Ghana for the thousands of Ghanaians who have come to rely on Taptap Send over the years,” said Darryl Mawutor Abraham, Head of Taptap Send Africa. “We deeply appreciate the patience, love, and support of our customers during the suspension period and remain committed to serving the Ghanaian diaspora in full compliance with all regulations.”

Taptap Send’s return is a significant relief for many families who depend on fast, secure, and affordable remittance services. The company, which operates in over 40 countries, has reinforced its dedication to adhering to regulatory standards and providing a seamless experience for users.
