The Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Lady Millicent Amankwa has held talks with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ghana, Imane Ouaadil to promote and forge stronger and more effective partnerships.

In a meeting with the Moroccan ambassador, Ms. Amankwa stressed that the face-face exchanges would help the two countries deepen their ties and also explore opportunities for her constituency.

Relations between Ghana and Morocco are based on common strategic interest, with Ghana establishing itself as one of Morocco’s main trading partners within ECOWAS.

At a meeting at the residence of her Moroccan counterpart, the MP for Sunyani West, indicated on her facebook wall “Earlier today, I had the honor of visiting Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ghana, at the Moroccan Embassy in Accra.

Our discussions were insightful and focused on fostering opportunities for the people of Ghana. Key areas included scholarship opportunities for our youth, women’s empowerment, agricultural development and other mutually beneficial initiatives.”

She also commended all female ambassadors for their role in shaping the continent, “I would like to take this opportunity to commend all female ambassadors for their significant contributions to the growth of Africa and the entire continent.

I am optimistic about the potential of this collaboration and look forward to translating these discussions into meaningful outcomes for my constituents and beyond.”

Lady Millicent Amankwa’s proactive approach to diplomacy aligns with her commitment to delivering tangible benefits to her constituents. A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), she secured a decisive victory in the 2024 general elections, defeating the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Ignatius Baffour Awuah.
