A delegation from the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Member of Parliament for Offinso North, Dr. Frederick Kyei Asamoah, to congratulate him on his election. The team expressed their support and encouraged him to bring his expertise as a pharmacist to bear in Parliament.
Dr. Kyei Asamoah, a longstanding member of PSGH, expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged to remain connected to his roots in the pharmaceutical field. He emphasized the importance of leveraging his training and experience to make a meaningful impact on health policies and legislation.
“For me, you should never forget where you’re coming from. My training as a pharmacist shaped my ability to lead in the TVET sector, and I intend to carry that same commitment into Parliament. I will ensure the pharmacist’s role in improving Ghana’s healthcare system is well understood and prioritized,” he stated.
Dr. Kyei Asamoah further highlighted his commitment to evidence-based practice and data-driven policymaking, noting that his contributions in Parliament would align with the highest professional standards.
The President of PSGH, Pharm. Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh, expressed confidence in Dr. Asamoah’s potential to advocate for pharmacists in Parliament. “We expect him to contribute significantly to improving pharmaceutical care in Ghana and to push for better healthcare delivery and legislation,” Dr. Donkoh remarked.
The PSGH delegation also assured the MP of their support, pledging to provide relevant information and resources to enrich his legislative efforts, particularly in areas concerning healthcare and pharmaceutical care.
