Interest rates seen falling further soon

Ghana’s interest rates are expected to decline further in the coming weeks, driven by the government’s yield control strategy aimed at reducing borrowing costs and guiding the yield curve towards normalisation.

Analysts anticipate that the ongoing bid rejections will lead to further yield compression, with investor appetite for treasury bills remaining strong.

Last week, the government rejected GH¢2.64 billion of the GH¢10.29 billion in bids, accepting GH¢7.65 billion, with yields on 91-day and 182-day bills declining by 43 and 21 basis points, respectively.
