Ghana taps $3.9b China investment over 10 years, GIPC says

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has revealed that Ghana has secured over $3.9 billion in Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) over the past decade. Speaking at the Ghana-China Business Summit in Accra, Madjie said the investments have yielded 424 projects nationwide, generating over 39,000 jobs. Approximately $2.7 billion of the funds went to manufacturing, followed by general trading, construction, and services. Madjie highlighted growing Chinese interest in industrial zones, logistics, energy, and infrastructure, positioning Ghana as a gateway to West Africa’s regional market. He described Ghana as a resilient and investor-friendly destination with a stable business environment, attracting key development partners. To drive long-term growth, Madjie encouraged Ghanaian and Chinese companies to form lasting partnerships.
