Acting Chief Justice pays tribute, signs Parliament’s book of condolence

The Ag. Chief Justice of the Republic, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has signed the Book of Condolence opened in Parliament in honour of the eight Ghanaians who perished in the recent tragic plane crash.

Following the solemn signing, the Ag. Chief Justice paid a courtesy call on the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, where they reflected on the national loss and discussed the collective role of state institutions in preserving the memory and legacies of the departed.

Parliament on Tuesday opened a Book of Condolence to honour eight Ghanaians who died in a recent helicopter crash.

 In a statement issued in Accra, Parliament said the gesture would allow members of the public, State Officials, and Members of Parliament to share their sympathies and pay tribute to the deceased.

The statement noted that among the victims were two Ministers of State, technocrats, and service personnel who served the nation with dedication.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has announced temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra on Friday, August 15, to ensure safety and smooth traffic management during the inter-denominational and inter-faith state funeral for the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
