Ghana Link Network Services Ltd, operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), have assured stakeholders that the intermittent downtimes on the platform are being resolved, with a major infrastructure upgrade currently underway.
The assurance follows concerns raised by users over recent disruptions on the ICUMS platform. In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations and circulated to the press, the company noted that measures have been put in place to enhance system stability and improve service delivery.
The statement noted “Over the past weeks, we have noted and fully acknowledged concerns regarding intermittent downtimes on the ICUMS platform. As a company dedicated to excellence, we assure all stakeholders that these issues have received the highest priority and are being addressed decisively.
Working hand-in-hand with key stakeholders, our technical teams have identified the root causes of the challenges. In response, a major upgrade of the ICUMS infrastructure is currently underway. This upgrade is specifically designed to expand the system’s capacity and resilience to handle the exponential surge in data traffic that comes with Ghana’s growing trade volumes.”
Furthermore, Ghana Link is working closely with Internet Service Providers to strengthen the internet backbone supporting the ICUMS platform, ensuring a more reliable, stable, and uninterrupted service for all users.
The statement also noted that, barring unforeseen circumstances, the comprehensive infrastructure upgrades—currently ongoing around the clock—are expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2025. Once finalized, these improvements will significantly enhance system performance and resolve the recurring challenges faced by stakeholders.
“We humbly appeal to our valued stakeholders, including importers, exporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and partners within Ghana’s trade ecosystem, to bear with us during this crucial period. Your confidence in ICUMS has been the foundation of its success, and with these upgrades, we are confident of delivering a solid, stable, and efficient system built on reliability, transparency, and speed,” the statement assured.
Ghana Link reaffirmed its commitment to providing a world-class trade facilitation system that empowers businesses, strengthens government revenue, and drives the growth of Ghana’s economy.
