The Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Ghana, Jeffery Oppong Peprah

, has disclosed that the company will soon make assembled car parts readily available to customers across the country.

Speaking at the launch of the new Volkswagen T-Cross in Accra, Mr. Peprah emphasized that the move forms part of efforts to strengthen after-sales support and build customer confidence in locally assembled vehicles.

We are not only looking to produce vehicles; we want to make sure that parts are available to our customers. It’s something we realized was lacking. The assembly vehicles that we build here should have parts available for them,” he stated.

Since its establishment in Ghana in 2020, Volkswagen has assembled over 20 vehicles locally. As the company marks five years of operations, Mr. Peprah reaffirmed VW’s long-term commitment to the Ghanaian market, saying the milestone is both “a celebration and a renewal of confidence in Ghana’s automotive future.”

He further revealed that Volkswagen Ghana plans to introduce three shifts of production in support of government’s 24-hour economy initiative, an industrial strategy designed to enhance productivity, create jobs, and boost manufacturing output.

The Ghana market has progressed well for our brands, and we believe aligning our production schedule with the 24-hour programme will help drive industrialisation and employment,” he added.

Unveiling the New T-Cross

The event also marked the official launch of the new Volkswagen T-Cross, a compact SUV designed for the modern urban lifestyle. The model comes in two variants—Comfortline and Highline—both powered by a 1.6-litre MPI 81kW engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the new T-Cross features a more refined exterior design, improved interior materials, and advanced technology for comfort and safety. The updated model includes LED headlights, a redesigned radiator grille, and illuminated rear taillights with a distinctive light strip, enhancing its bold, contemporary look.

A new Pyrite Silver metallic paint joins the model’s colour lineup, offering buyers even greater choice.

Inside, the T-Cross features soft-touch dashboard panels, upgraded door trims, and a 10-inch infotainment display with wireless smartphone charging as standard. The Comfortline comes with leatherette seats, while the Highline offers premium leather upholstery with elegant stitching.

Safety remains a priority, with features such as cruise control, rear-view camera, front and rear park distance control, and a driver alert system. Both trims come with 16-inch Belmont alloy wheels, while the Highline offers an optional 17-inch wheel for a sportier edge.

The 1.6-litre MPI engine delivers 81kW of power and 200Nm of torque, ensuring a smooth yet responsive driving experience suited to Ghana’s roads.

The new Volkswagen T-Cross is backed by a 3-year/120,000km warranty and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty, with service intervals set at every 10,000km or one year.
