Ghana is deepening economic cooperation with Germany, with a focus on boosting investment and driving industrial growth, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the maiden German-Ghana Business Dialogue in Accra, Madjie highlighted flagship government programmes such as the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+) and the Big Push Agenda, aimed at enhancing productivity, expanding exports, and strengthening the country’s industrial base.

Ghana is undertaking significant reforms to improve the investment climate, including reviewing the GIPC Act, adjusting minimum capital requirements, and enhancing investor protection measures, Madjie said.

Germany’s Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshoeft, commended Ghana’s progress in stabilising its macroeconomic fundamentals and creating a predictable business environment, describing the country as a rising regional hub.

Immediate opportunities for German engagement include energy and infrastructure, manufacturing and industrialisation, digital technology, the circular economy, and agriculture and food processing, Landshoeft said.
