The board chair of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), Dr Emmanuel Oteng Kumah, has retired.

His retirement took effect from October 29, 2022, having served out three terms of three years each on the board.

A release from the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) said a new chairman of the board would be appointed in due course.

Who is Dr Kumah

An International Economic Consultant and former advisor to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dr Kumah, replaced Dr Ishmael Yamson as Board Chairman of the Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (StanChart) almost a decade ago.

A former Division Chief, IMF Resident Representative in Djibouti and Deputy Division Chief at the Balance of Payments and External Debt Division of the fund, he led the board to further consolidate the bank’s position during his tenure.
