IFED Global set to host 2nd edition of Global Junior Model United Nations Plus

The Innovation For Empowerment and Development (IFED GLOBAL) is set to organize the 2nd edition of the Junior Model United Nations Plus from August 22nd to 25th, 2023, at the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra. 

The conference is aimed at empowering and educating the younger generation, aged twelve to eighteen, through diplomatic, leadership, and contemporary educational activities. The theme for this year’s event is “Nurturing Young Minds for Sustainable Development,” reflecting the conference’s dedication to equipping young individuals with the skills and knowledge required to address pressing global challenges.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Tutu Acheampong, Executive President of IFED GLOBAL, said the Junior MUN Plus conference serves as an extension of the organization’s commitment to fostering global awareness and nurturing young minds for sustainable development. 

The Junior MUN Plus event will offer an array of engaging activities, including United Nations General Assembly simulations, UN committee simulations, SDGs awareness sessions, interactive games, social events, a global leader grooming session, and a diplomatic dinner and awards ceremony. 

Participants will have the option to choose between being residents or non-residents during the event. The accommodation options ensure comfort and convenience for all attendees, enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the conference experience.

Notable speakers from various fields include  Portia Gabor: Ghana’s Best Journalist 2022 and News Anchor,  Gyimaah Larbi: Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher of 2022, Dr. Kofi Osei- Kusi, Vice Chancellor of GH Media School, President of OKF Foundation, Mrs. Mawuyirami Ocloo, Executive Director of the Music Therapy Association of Ghana, Dr. Akosua Quarcoopome: Dental Surgeon and Healthcare Advocate,  Bernard Kweku Opoku: CEO of Capikids Soccer Academy and Fitness Expert, Mrs. Mavis Leonards: Vice President of Leonards Group and Business Mentor among others.

The event will also feature an additional day tour option, allowing participants to explore the cultural and historical treasures of Accra and Ghana and participate in both indoor and outdoor activities.
