As of this morning, some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have commenced raising prices of certain petroleum products at the pumps.
Market leader GOIL is retailing a litre of petrol at GH₵15.22.
Nevertheless, the cost of diesel has been lowered to GH₵14.65 per litre.
Meanwhile, Star Oil has decreased the prices of its petroleum products on the market.
Petrol is retailing at GH₵13.99, while diesel is priced at GH₵13.97.
According to some of the OMCs, the adjustment was driven by the increasing prices of crude oil on the international market and the cedi’s depreciation.
Some market analysts previously forecasted that prices of petroleum products would stabilize at the pumps due to ongoing developments in the global market.
The increase in some cases could prompt transport operators to initiate a fresh round of negotiations to raise fares.
