The Stanford Seed Transformation Network (SSTN) Ghana Chapter has successfully hosted its AI Workshop: Unlocking the Power of Artificial Intelligence – Hands On at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra on 15th August 2025.
Originally designed for 100 participants, the event attracted nearly 150 entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals eager to explore practical applications of AI across finance, HR, marketing, customer service, and operations.
With generous sponsorship from Npontu Technologies and training delivered by a team of exceptional facilitators including: Dr. Stephane Nwolley & Deborah Asmah (Npontu Technologies), Ohemaa Gyamera (40 Analytics), Benjamin Nortey (Mingo Blox).
Others are Julian Owusu (Build Your Company), Isaac Maafo (BulkSMS Ghana) and Derrick Siawor (Command Space)
The workshop delivered hands-on, immediately applicable tools for leveraging AI in business.
Dr. Stephane Nwolley, Founder of Npontu Technologies and key note speaker at the event, remarked:
“Africa cannot afford to miss the emerging 5th Industrial Revolution, unlike earlier industrialisation waves where we were forced to play catch‑up. By investing boldly and eliminating bias, Npontu enables every African organisation to adopt AI effortlessly, while treating inevitable mistakes as valuable learning opportunities that continuously improve our models, just as we do for the rest of the world. This turns Africa’s cultural richness and the momentum of the new industrial era into a unified engine for sustainable growth.”
As a testament to this commitment, Npontu has developed its own AI platform, Snwolley.AI—a locally trained conversational assistant with contextual understanding tailored to Ghana and African business realities. Built to serve the continent’s unique needs, Snwolley.AI allows users to interact with AI in a way that resonates with local culture, language, and regulatory nuances, providing a strategic alternative to global tools like ChatGPT.
The success of the workshop reaffirms SSTN Ghana’s commitment to empowering its members with forward-thinking resources, positioning African businesses to compete globally through innovation, technology, and collaborative knowledge-sharing.
“Our mission with this workshop is to ensure that African businesses are not left behind in the AI revolution,” said Prince Koblah Arkutu, President of SSTN Ghana Chapter. “The turnout and energy we witnessed demonstrates the private sector’s readiness to lead with AI.”
By extending participation to non-members, SSTN continues to foster inclusive capacity building, embodying its belief that transformation happens faster when knowledge is shared across communities and industries.
